Spanish For Health Care Professionals

This course is designed for doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals who wish to improve their Spanish languages skills in order to work more effectively with Spanish-speaking patients. The course includes medical terminology, effective ways to communicate with Hispanic patients and their families, and insights into relevant social and cultural issues.

Volunteer Opportunities

Students have the opportunity to volunteer in the afternoons in a local medical clinic. There is also the opportunity to volunteer full time in a local hospital in Quetzaltenango or in a smaller community after the end of the course.
