What does it take to become a full-time volunteer at El Nahual? The following list provides an idea of some of the core skills that we are looking for. Required • At least Intermediate level of Spanish, though Advanced preferred. • Demonstrated commitment to Community Development / Social Justice. • Minimum time commitment of 2 months. • Evidence of initiative taking / self starting capacity. • Endless amount of enthusiasm and motivation to drive change! Preferred • Written communication skills in Spanish language. • Experience of living / travelling / working in Latin American. **At this time we are only able to accept "volunteer only" participants June-July in exceptional cases. Please contact the Volunteer Coordinator to inquire. **In July 2007, we started a new project within the Mujeres de El Nahual program which will provide the local women with a specialised course in “cocina” (cooking). The long-term aspiration for the project is that the women will combine their skills into starting the first El Nahual co-operative through opening a local bakery. We are currently looking for a committed full-time volunteer who can drive this project to realisation and provide the women with the necessary training in co-operative methodology. In addition, we are seeking a full-time long term volunteer to coordinate the Jovenes scholarship program that is starting in January 2008.
