Last week was one of those very intensive ones. We had quite a lot of work preparing our benefit RETRO KARAOKE PARTY. On Thursday our office and the class rooms changed into an origami workshop full of beautiful hearts made of paper. The kids found this activity so interesting that they didn´t want to stop creating more and more hearts. At last, they painted some of them and either took them back home or gave them to the English teachers.
The karaoke party started at 8 p.m. and we had real fun singing Spanish and English hits. The voice and the music skills didn´t really matter. Some people say that everybody is able to sing.Our party prooved that!!! The place was just perfect. The party took place at "Pool & Beer" pub, in the center of Xela and it was our second karaoke party there. We had a lot of space to perform, two pool tables and foosball - enough to enjoy the party. Let´s hope the next one will be as great as this one or even better :)
If somebody entered our office last week, one of those sunny beautiful guatemalan mornings, they would have been very confused and might have thought that it was Christmas time. Our three tables were full of supplies for kids: notebooks, maps, pens, pencils, crayons and...a printer!!! Thank you sooooo much, our wonderful volunteers! We appreciate all your gifts very much!
And how are the things going in our garden? Great! A few days ago we seeded the beans and now we wait for them to grow. The carrots and beetroots seem to be bigger every day and hopefully they will be ready to eat soon :)
